Cardiorespiratory Assessment

This assessment combines two of the most powerful diagnostic tools in longevity medicine: a Resting Metabolic Rate evaluation and a VO2 Max test.

Together, they reveal how efficiently your body produces energy at rest and how well it performs under physical demand, giving us a complete picture of your metabolic and cardiovascular health.

Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) Assessment

A clinical breath test that reads your metabolism directly

Using indirect calorimetry, this test analyzes the oxygen you absorb and the carbon dioxide you exhale at rest to measure your Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) and Respiratory Exchange Ratio (RER) in real time.

From this data, our team can assess your metabolic flexibility: your body’s ability to switch between burning glucose and fat for fuel.

The inability to make this transition, known as metabolic inflexibility, often precedes metabolic syndrome and insulin resistance, sometimes years before standard lab results show any abnormality.

Who is this for

This assessment is recommended if you

Those with chronic fatigue that standard lab tests cannot explain

Those struggling to lose weight despite consistent diet and exercise

Healthy individuals or athletes who want to optimize metabolic flexibility

Cardiorespiratory Capacity (VO2 Max)

The clinical gold standard for cardiovascular fitness

The VO2 Max test measures the maximum volume of oxygen your body can absorb, circulate, and use during intense physical activity. It evaluates how well your lungs, heart, and skeletal muscles work together under measured physical stress.

In longevity medicine, VO2 Max is recognized as one of the strongest independent predictors of all-cause mortality, more predictive than many conventional risk factors.

Your results form the basis of a personalized exercise protocol, including your optimal Zone 2 Heart Rate for stimulating mitochondrial development without triggering excessive oxidative stress.

Who this is for

This assessment is recommended if you

Those who want to assess their cardiovascular fitness against their biological age

Those at risk of sarcopenia or functional decline who need safe, measured exercise guidance

Those completing cardiovascular rehabilitation who need a personalized progression plan

What to expect

Two tests, one complete picture, in a single visit

Both tests use the same clinical breath analysis system. The resting evaluation is done while you sit comfortably and breathe normally through a mask, taking around 15 to 20 minutes.

The VO2 Max test follows, with a progressively intense activity conducted under full medical supervision and calibrated to your current fitness level. Together, the results give our team everything needed to build a precise, personalized plan for your metabolism and your cardiovascular health.
